In Melissa, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Texas, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Showed up an hour and a half before their advertised closing time, and the gate was locked shut similar to other reviews. I like to support small businesses, but updating the hours would be appreciated. The plants looked solid from the other side of the fence though!

We highly recommend Moonlight Nurseries in Melissa! We’ve come to them for our landscaping needs for 2 different homes now. Their plants and flowers are high quality, and they last! We have been extremely happy with everything we’ve purchased, from flowers to shrubs to small trees. Their customer service is excellent. Corey and Ashley are honest and help talk you through what you’re looking for until you find it! Their prices can’t be beat. Why would you go anywhere else? Support a local small business. You’ll be glad you did 😊

They close at 4:00 I got there at 3:20. The gate was closed, they were closed, I called them, it went to voicemail. I had just drove a half hour to get there on time. A few moments later a lady came out and said its their slow season so they close early. I mentioned its a self fullfilling prophecy if you just turn away customers at your gate. Please call before going there and also ask if they have what you need. I went directly to Calloway's and looked through their beautiful fresh arrivals and got everything I needed and more!

Purchased beautiful flowers and sweet potato vines for our flower beds. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back soon to purchase more.
